Civil Litigation
Civil litigation is a term that refers to courtroom disputes outside of the area of criminal law. It does not just refer to attending court, but all of the steps necessary to prepare for court. Some common areas of civil litigation that we handle include personal injury, employment, contract disputes including construction contracts, just to name a few.
Only a small number of civil litigation matters, some figures have only 2% to 3%, ever go to trial. The time and expense of trials, along with the high stakes, mean that most parties opt to come to compromises with their opposing party to resolve matters in a manner that is often mutually beneficial to those involved.
